Senators Love Gay People More Than Freedom!
by Chris M. Wilson on Jun.28, 2006, under Uncategorized
You heard me!
Today those boneheads in Washington D.C. almost passed an ammendment to the Constitution that would make it a crime to desacrate the American Flag (feel free to wipe your arse with an Iraqi flag though). This mornic piece of legislation failed by a slim ONE VOTE MARGIN! Thats right! Nearly two thirds of these idiot senators voted to chip away just a little bit more of your right to freely express yourself.
Oh yeah … the gay people … I almost forgot!
The 5 Minute Song …
by Chris M. Wilson on Jun.28, 2006, under Uncategorized
No, it’s not five minutes long. But it only took about five minutes to record.
It’s not finished, and it’s very rough. Basically I just hit start on the built-in drum machine on my GNX3K and started playing along. I came up with a couple of small riffs and decided it was kinda cool so I just hit record. Then I grabbed the bass and threw down a simple bass track. Next I fired up the keyboard and layed down a little organ part in the background. Oh, and I laid down a little tambourine track somewhere along the way just for good measure … well … actually for several measures.
Ok … I guess it took a little bit longer than five minutes (but not much).
This all helps to illustrates the current pros and cons of all this gear i’ve accumulated. Before, it was a long, laborious process to sequence everything, because all I had to my name was a copy of N-Track and my guitar. Now, I find it’s easy to rapidly commit an idea to disk, but much harder to actually finish a song. Playing more things myself with perfect accuracy takes more time (in the form of numerous takes).
Anyways, I don’t even know if I’ll work on this one again. That’s just how I roll. This really can’t even be called a song, since it’s just one phrase repeated a number of times. It would take more playing around to flesh this one out (come up with a verse, a bridge, that sort of thing), so for now it gets relegated to the “incomplete/unfinished” bin. This is why I call them snippets.
When I first created this site, I knew I wanted to upload some of my original stuff. Instead of trying to decide on what to put online, and what to disavow completely, I decide to just put everything online. The stuff that sucks, and the stuff that sucks less. Perhaps somebody will stumble upon of my snippets and initiate some sort of collaboration.

What do you mean I won?
by Chris M. Wilson on Jun.19, 2006, under Uncategorized
We just spent a lovely evening at my mother’s house. We watched a pretty good movie (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang), had some good pizza, played with my mom’s cat for awhile … good times.
So then … how does one cap off such a nice evening?
That’s right! With a quick SnG tournament on UB! In fact … thats what I’m doing right now! Five players left to go, and I’m sitting pretty in second place with 4620 in chips (the chip leader has 6565). The blinds are curently $50/$100.
UPDATE: I won! I took down the final pot with a set of queens.
Anyways … there was an interesting hand about halfway through. Here are the details:
