Helen Thomas … a tool of the Right?
by Chris M. Wilson on Mar.24, 2006, under Uncategorized
First off …
Kent And Gayle Taylor are morons.
Those are the two idiots that have been all over the news these last two days complaining that the “media” aren’t painting a rosey enough picture of the Iraqi war. Kent was a Media officer for the Natl. Guard. His job in Iraq was to write fluff pieces on things like how Halliburton is helping to rebuild the ravaged countryside. As far as I can tell, his wife has no qualifications other than an adeptness for softball. What else can explain the underhanded pitch she lobbed at the President the other day? “Why does the media only talk about the bad stuff that happens in Iraq?” People this stupid usually succumb to the effects of Darwinism much earlier in life. I would encourage her to make up for lost time.
People watch the news explicity to hear about all the bad things that happen to people other than themselves. It’s that simple. We watch the news and we say … “wow” … “it sucks to be those people” … “thank god I’m not that poor bastard!” If they started showing us all the other crap that happens around the world that isn’t horrible, well then that would just be called life.
Hmmm … lets see. 2,300 US Troops dead, 17,000 US Troops wounded. Positive spin? Hmmm … well let’s see … alot of these guys are in the National Guard, which means they have day jobs … so … hey, I guess thats more jobs available back home. So yeah … assuming that even half of the woulded are seriously wounded and are now disabled … I guess its fair to say that Bush created 12,000 new jobs. Is that positive enough?
Secondly …
Helen Thomas rocks … let me just start by saying that. But she has been in the game long enough that she should have seen it coming. The President hasn’t called on her for over two years. And for no good reason … he calls on her the other day. And of course … having two years of pent-up questions rattling around inside of her … she comes out swinging. “Why did you want to go to war?”
Oooohh Snap!
Or so we thought! BOOM! Bush comes back on here like a freakin boomarang and slams her for even insinuating such nonsense. And so we’re thinking … “well” … “fair play to the queen” .. but no, sadly. It was a trap. Bush was too quick to respond. Too prepared. Add this to the afore mentioned moronic chic who has been all over the news these last two days and also to some other hostile comments issued by right-wing idealogs over the past two days and you realize that the Bush team has forsaken it’s war on terrorism in favor of a war on the media, and Helen Thomas is the new poster child for the bush-hating, leftist media. Uh-huh. Sure.
Luckily, there is hope. Recent Polls show that most Americans trust “the media” to more accurately represent what’s going on in Iraq than they do the President. Let’s hope it stays that way.
